The vision of the Department of Mathematics and Science Education is to be a reference and exemplary department that produces scientific knowledge at both national and international levels, adheres to ethical values, solves problems, thinks analytically and critically, and trains teachers who are committed to the primary aims of elementary education and equipped with professional teaching knowledge. This vision aligns with our university’s goal of becoming an innovative, entrepreneurial, society- and civilization-focused, internationally recognized research university. The department also aims to propose national and international policies in its field.
The vision of the Science Education Division is to train quality educators who embrace Atatürk's principles, embody the qualities required by science, art, and technology, possess national, international, and universal qualities, learn how to learn, are open to development, value human beings and the environment, and constantly aim for success.
The mission of the Science Education Division is to train educators who internalize Atatürk's principles and reforms, accept a secular and democratic social order, absorb Turkish societal values, respect all human values, and are ready to serve humanity. These educators will perform activities related to educational science for regional and national development, possess self-confidence, inquisitiveness, creativity, productivity, tolerance, participation, responsibility, and self-expression. They will be well-trained in their field, highly motivated, and take pride in being members of the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Education.
The vision of the Mathematics Education Division is to train teachers with pedagogical expertise at international standards, conduct innovative, creative, and effective scientific research in mathematics education at an international level, and train researchers in this field.
The mission of the Mathematics Education Division is to train academicians and teachers who meet international standards in mathematics education, can use current educational technologies, possess a modern understanding of mathematics education, adhere to ethical values, can lead in mathematics education, conduct scientific research, prioritize mathematical thinking, and provide effective mathematics teaching in line with the nature of mathematics.
The vision of the Chemistry Education Division is to establish a quality program that meets world standards by training chemistry teachers and academicians who can analyze teaching approaches, strategies, methods, and techniques suitable for their field, prepare teaching materials, use advanced scientific process skills and laboratory skills, access and effectively use advanced knowledge resources related to their field, play an active role in promoting lifelong learning goals, closely follow national and international agendas, understand the nature of science, and are dedicated to education.
The mission of the Chemistry Education Division is to train chemistry teachers and academicians who love their country and nation, can contribute to its development, are contemporary, experts in their field, closely follow developments in education and teaching, are idealistic, inquisitive, possess high problem-solving skills, internalize the fundamental principles of Turkish National Education, effectively use information and communication skills, and uphold democratic, human rights, social, scientific, and professional ethical values.
