TUBITAK 1002-A Short Term Support Module Project by Asst. Prof. Leyla AYVERDİ

Asst. Prof. Leyla AYVERDİ, a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, is leading the project titled "Developing an Instructional Design for STREAM Approach within the Scope of Sustainable Development Goals." This project has been awarded support under the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Short Term Support Module.

The project team includes:

  • Assoc. Prof. Derya GİRGİN and Assoc. Prof. Eylem YALÇINKAYA ÖNDER from our faculty,
  • Lecturer Dr. İsmail SATMAZ from the Vocational School of Technical Sciences,
  • Lecturer Dr. Caner BÖREKÇİ from Balıkesir University,
  • Dr. Yunus Emre AVCU and Dr. Sibel ÖZALTI from Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of National Education.

The project aims to develop, implement, and evaluate an instructional design for Science Teachers to utilize the STREAM approach in classroom environments, aligned with the objectives for sustainable development goals in the 5th to 8th grade science curriculum. As part of this initiative, training sessions were conducted on March 9-10 at Balıkesir University Necatibey Faculty of Education and İstanbulluoğlu Social Sciences High School with science teachers in Balıkesir, and on March 16-17 at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Education with science teachers and prospective teachers in Çanakkale.
